Call it the luck of the Irish: after closing Bar 32 in 2014, Anne, Ronan and their English partner Stephen took over this incredible space across the way, once the stables of Palau Mornau, a 450-year-old Modernist palace. Settle into a sofa and have a drink as you contemplate the original stone arches, historic crown molding and mural (painted by Stephen) with its depiction of Napoleon, who once drew up war plans in the palace.
All the cocktails are good but try a house creation such as the Big Lebowski (like a White Russian) or Mentarita (like a vanilla Cuba Libre). There’s a discounted cocktail of the week. There’s Guinness on draft and bottles of craft beer. They serve specialty sandwiches plus tapas, cured meats & cheeses and other light fare too.
