Privacy Policy

What personal data Miniguide collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Who we are

Miniguide is operated by Miniguide Media, S.L. (“Miniguide”, “we”), registered at Ronda Universitat 15, 1-1, 08007 Barcelona, Spain, tax ID (CIF) B65322059. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, which covers the Miniguide website and app. For privacy questions and rights requests, write to privacy@miniguide.co.

What we collect and why

  • Technical data (IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring page). Our hosting and delivery providers log this so the site loads, stays secure and can be fixed when it breaks. This rests on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working service.
  • Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter or write to us. We send the newsletter because you asked for it, which is your consent, and every issue carries an unsubscribe link. We answer messages because we have a legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us.
  • Analytics and advertising data, only if you accept the matching cookies. Your choice in the banner is your consent, and you can change it at any time. See Cookies.
  • Your location, only when you use a “Near me” feature and allow it in your browser’s permission prompt. That permission is your consent. We use the coordinates once, to sort places by distance, and never store them or link them to you.

Miniguide has no accounts and no sign-up, and we do not sell your personal data.

Cookies

mg_consent stores your cookie choices for 12 months and is strictly necessary. With your consent we also load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, which set cookies such as _ga (up to two years), and, where enabled, advertising tags from Meta and Pinterest.

Nothing non-essential loads until you say yes: we run Google Consent Mode v2 with every signal denied by default. You can at any time, or clear the cookies in your browser. Declining non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to read the guide.

Who we share it with

Providers that process data on our behalf, under a data processing agreement and only for the purposes above: Google (hosting and database in an EU region; Tag Manager and Analytics only if you consent), Cloudflare (delivery, DNS and abuse protection), Typesense Cloud (search index), and Resend (email delivery). Our subscriber list lives in our own database; Resend only sends on our behalf.

If you accept advertising cookies, Meta and Pinterest also receive data through their tags and use it as controllers in their own right, under their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If the business is sold or merged, user data may transfer with it and stays bound by this policy.

International transfers

Our infrastructure runs in the European Union, but several providers are US companies that may process data outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, then only a minimal suppression record so we never email you again. Server and delivery logs: normally up to 30 days. Analytics: 2 months for event data, and 14 months from your last visit for user-level data. Correspondence: as long as we need it to handle your request.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to or port your personal data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time, and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue.

Email us and we will answer within the time limits set by the GDPR, normally one month. You can also complain to the Spanish supervisory authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, C/ Jorge Juan 6, 28001 Madrid, www.aepd.es.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the date above always shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will say so here.
